Welcome toThrybergh Fullerton C of E Primary Academy

Class 5 - Miss Nettleton & Mrs Whitehead-Price

Welcome back to Autumn term! We have a fun and exciting year ahead of us.

Our first topic this year is all about allotments, growing and farming. Let’s grow. A crispy carrot, a luscious lettuce or a tasty tomato. We are going to be digging deep and putting our backs into it, making our own tubs and planters and nurturing our greens. Harvesting our crops and making soups and dishes of seasonal foods that taste delicious. We will learn about farms and where food comes from, write reports on worldwide produce. Lets discover which allotments are closest to our school, and open the door to the secret garden.  After all that hard work, have your fingers gone green? We shall also be learning about the features and characteristics of land use in agricultural regions across the world, including a detailed exploration of significant environmental areas.

Our class text this term will be Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson-Burnett.

  • Homework will be given weekly.   The children will be asked to complete:
  • 15 minutes of their reading books at least 3x per week

Any homework given on sheets and new spellings will be given out each Friday and is expected to be handed in by the following Wednesday at the latest.
