Promoting Good Attendance
As a parent/carer it is your responsibility to ensure that your child attends school both regularly and on time. As a school, our target for attendance is 96%.
Regular school attendance and good punctuality means your child can make the most of their education and will improve their choices in adult life. It will also help them when they enter the world of work.
School helps children and young people with their social skills, making and maintaining friendships, building confidence and self-esteem.
If your child is absent from school we will initially contact you to ask for the reason. If we are unable to contact a parent/carer then a referral will be made to the Rotherham CME team, for this reason it is vital that parents/carers contact school on a child’s first day of absence.
If we become concerned about your child’s attendance you may be asked to have a meeting with Mrs Lambert.
As a school we will always support parents/carers in any way we can. If you feel you need support with your child’s attendance, please speak to some in school.
